Day 6 - Forgive us our sins

Why is it that we tend to extend more grace to those around us than we do to ourselves? It can be tempting to pray this line and do just that. To pray and believe that God will forgive the sins of others but not your own. That’s just not the case!

There may be things that you’ve done in your past (or even just this morning) that you think God would hold against you. Maybe you’ve been so bound by shame that the things that come to mind are things that you’ve never told anyone before – maybe for fear of your sins being too big to handle. The beautiful thing is that nothing is too big for God. When we come to God with penitence, acknowledging our wrongs, He promises us forgiveness.

Take a moment to read Psalm 51, which is a psalm of King David. He wrote it after the prophet Nathan came to him when he had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

Pray for Five:
Take a moment now to pray that they come to know that amazing truth, that whatever they have done in their lives, whatever they will do, God still loves them and longs for a relationship with them.
